Oğuz Nusret Bilik – Mannequins
“Mannequins sometimes catch our eye with their magnificent postures wearing the new season’s collection and sometimes while waiting to get dressed. Sometimes their impeccably moulded uniform bodies are dressed but sometimes they decorate the showcases with their blatant nakedness. Old-fashioned or damaged mannequins are piled up in warehouses, waiting for the day to be trashed. Winter season, summer season…this never-ending duty term only stops when they get useless. Their lives maybe got stuck between two seasons. One is missing an arm, another a leg, the head or the nose; a different kind of sadness on their faces and with their everlasting nudeness – a silent scream maybe…” (text by: Özevin Sema)
