“This project is about connection. The camera acts as a bridge between the subject and the viewer, their on you, your eyes on them. Intimate. Connected. These New Yorkers, once stripped off their clothes, their protective camouflage, their guarded gaze – are suddenly intensely, amazingly familiar and all pretense of remoteness falls away. We are all connected, bound in a web of life and love, the veins of the New York streets, the blood in our collective body. This is a sort of love, the enveloping love of human for human, side by side, cheek by jowl, in the heaving, haven of a city that we have all – wherever we were born – chosen to call home.”
