Rehman, 5 years old, had a fever but still came to school. For many children school becomes a safe place where there is no hardship to endure.

Most of our children start working ar a very young age. Ramesh, 7 years old, assist one of many local shoemakers. Each day he breaths in dangerous fumes from the glue sealing the soles together. His parents, also illiterate, doesn’t know the dangers of exposing their child to the work force.

Yousaf, 8 years old, serves tea in a tea stall, earning just a few rupees each day. Here, he becomes an easy target to abuse, both physical and sexual.

Our school provides nourishement to the children’s heart and minds, like water does for a flower to blossom.

Most young girls in our community are destined to a life as sex workers. We believe that with education these girls will have an opportunity to break centuries of tradition of being into prostitution.

Thank you for joining us in our efforts to build a strong and healthy community for our children and their future.

Your friends at SheedSociety and Kate Orne.
