“Dystopia is a personal photographic project about my post industrial hometown in Eastern Europe and my reconciliation with my past there. I used to be a documentary press photographer at the beginning of my career and I am now a fashion photographer, thus the nature of this project is somewhere between the two. I am drawn to the same location over and over again, a small salt field on the outskirts of the former industrial site. I keep on exploring the feeling of isolation and solitude that I have associated with this place.” – Vlad Andrei

Vlad Andrei is a fashion photographer based in Bucharest and London. He has published work in Harper’s BAZAAR, ESTETICA Magazine, LUXURY, UNICA, COCKAIGNE, METRO, DECAY and he exhibited photography and moving image at the Wolf and Badger Gallery in London, London Victoria House and UalShowroom in High Holborn. He is an MA graduate in fashion photography at the London College of Fashion / Univeristy of Arts London and runs the art and fashion project DECAY Magazine.
