The Post-Industrial Stories will become a printed photography book

Xpose Art Collective / anti-utopias announces the publication of Post-Industrial Stories photography book, the first printed book in a series dedicated to artists previously published on the art platform to be made available as a limited edition. Post-Industrial Stories is an independent photography project initiated by Ioana Cîrlig and Marin Raica. For the past two years, the two photographers have been documenting areas in the vicinity of important industrial centres in Western and Central Romania. Through their project, they offer a vibrant image of landscapes and communities in mono-industrial areas and create the first visual archive of its kind in Romania. Two years after starting the project, Ioana and Marin continue to live in these communities. The book is an acknowledgement of their efforts so far. The photographers’ work has been featured in numerous photographic magazines around the world, including the catalogue of the Romanian national pavilion at Venice Biennale 2014.

Post-Industrial_Stories

After having worked with Post-Industrial Stories on numerous occasions, including interviews for Igloo magazines and the anti-utopias platform or extensive photographic features, Xpose Art Collective / anti-utopias publishes the project’s first printed photography book. The book features a wide selection of photographs, including a large selection of previously unpublished photographs, accompanied by a text and analysis on the artists’ photographic work and the state of mono-industrial communities in Romania.
