Dan Moruzan – Oltenian fairs
“Oltenian fairs” is a documentary project began in 2012. I was not interested than simply documenting these country fairs that for sure will be changed and modernized. I “visited” several times four trade fairs from Valcea county, fairs that are held weekly on Saturday or/and Sunday. This is an ongoing project. Most photographs were taken with a small and cheap digital camera, a Ricoh. It no longer works and from now on I will work on this project only with an analog camera.
Dan Moruzan was born in 1967 and has a degree in engineering. He started photography in 2000 – initially landscape photography, urban landscape and ultimately – street photography. In 2009 he managed to collect a few pictures on a personal website. In 2011 he founded a photographic group named “PhotoTeam” alongside two friends.
You can view the full “Oltenian fairs” series at Dan’s official site http://danmoruzan.ro alongside other documentary project like “LUPTA” or street photography series. Most of the photos are black&white street photography and sometimes in a very boldly-chosen square format. The latest ongoing project is called “EMSIX” involving film photography and a very interesting idea.
