Nguan – Shibuya
Shibuya is a collection of candid portraits taken between 2008-2010 in the vicinity of one of Japan’s busiest transportation hubs. Made during an uncertain age — at the height of the global banking crisis — the project is about the people of Tokyo finding their way in the big city. It’s also a typology of glances — a staring contest that only comes to an end when someone blinks.
